Every cost item has direct labor and
material costs. You no longer have to do material take offs to do the estimate or struggle
with calculating installation hours to develop labor costs. Simply transfer the item into
the estimate, enter a quantity and the item is finished.
To make the data accurate, the costs
are adjusted to your local area. Your zip code places you in one of 214 cost areas of the
US and Canada. Enter in your zip code and the program adjusts the costs to match your
local conditions. The beauty of the HomeTech system is that each quarter every item gets
adjusted for material and labor costs. Other estimating systems in the marketplace have a
single geographic percentage adjustment that change every item by the same factor. That
kind of global updating can create a large margin of error.
