Update Your LAMI in 6 Simple Steps

Our Local Area Modification Index (LAMI) cost databases are what make HomeTech ADVANTAGE different from all other estimating packages. With over 14,000 items in the LAMI databases, all of these costs are updated on a quarterly basis and are available for download directly into your HomeTech ADVANTAGE system. Follow these simple six steps to update your HomeTech ADVANTAGE LAMI database.

Before you get started: Make sure your HomeTech ADVANTAGE software is closed.

Step 1

A. Click on your desktop START menu.

B. Click on ALL PROGRAMS.

C. Highlight "HomeTech ADVANTAGE 4.2".

D. Click on the CHECK FOR UPDATES box.

Step 2

A. In the INSTALL SHIELD box, click on the "4th Qtr 2007 LAMI".

B. Click on LEARN MORE.

Step 3

A. Click on "HomeTech User Site".

B. Enter in your Serial Number and click GO.

C. Enter in your Password and click GO.

D. Click on CONTINUE at the bottom of Verify Your Information Page.

E. Click on DOWNLOAD LAMI at the bottom of the Subscription Information page.

F. Click on 2007 LAMIEXE by "Download the file here...".

G. Click on RUN at the File Download window.

Step 4

A. Click on RUN at the Internet Security window.

B. Click on OK at the WinZip Self-Extractor (first window).

C. Click on UNZIP at the WinZip Self-Extractor [2007 LAMI] (second window).

D. Click on OK at the WinZip Self-Extractor 219 files unzipped (third window).

E. Click OK at the LAMI Update window.

F. Close all windows and return to your desktop.

Step 5

A. OPEN HomeTech ADVANTAGE from your desktop.

NOTE: This may take a while and you willl see a message on your screen: "Checking for Updates. Please Wait!"

B. LOG IN to HomeTech ADVANTAGE.

C. Click on LAMI from top menu.

D. Click on QUARTERLY LAMI Update.

E. Click OK at the Quarterly Local Area Modifier Update window.

Step 6

A. Click YES at the default window.

B. Blue lines will run across the page indicating the installation of the updated cost books.

C. Verify the 4th Quarter was installed:

• OPEN a cost book.
• At the end of the blue ADVANTAGE title line, check for the words "4th Quarter LAMI."
