Change Markup for Multiple Estimate Line Items with the "Right-Click" Menu

Did you know you can change markups for multiple estimate line items at once by using the CHANGE MARKUP feature in the "Right-Click" menu in HomeTech ADVANTAGE?

Changing markups for a group of estimate line items saves time versus changing each line item markup individually. Changing markups for multiple estimate line items is helpful when you recognize that certain line items, or estimate divisions, contain difficulty factors where a higher selling price is needed.

Common scenarios where users change markups for multiple estimate line items may include:

• The selected line items, or divisions, contain difficulty or judgment factors beyond average circumstances, or what is included in the line item cost.
• Additional profit is needed for the selected items to properly complete those tasks.
  

Step 1: Select Line Items

• Select/Highlight the estimate line item(s) you want to change the markup. Selected items can be from different divisions and/or phases. Notice the existing markup of 57% for these selected items.

NOTE:
To select multiple items (in any order), press and hold the CONTROL (CTRL) key on your keyboard while selecting items. To select a range of items, select the first item and then press and hold the SHIFT key while selecting the last item. All items between the first and last items (including the first and last items) will be selected.

• On your mouse, RIGHT-CLICK on the selected line item(s) to display the "Right-Click" menu.

• Choose CHANGE MARKUP to display the "Markup" window.
  
  
  

Step 2: Enter New Markups

• Enter new markups for the selected items in the "Markup" window (1). In this example, the existing markup of 57% for Labor, Material, SubC and Other will be changed to a new markup of 75%. Markups for Labor, Material, SubC and Other can be modified independently meaning you can modify one, some or all of these markups individually.

• Choose APPLY (2) to have these new markups applied to your selected estimate line items. Choose EXIT to cancel and exit the "Markup" window.
  

Step 3: Verify New Markups

Notice that the selected estimate line items now have the desired markup applied. In this example the selected items now have a 75% markup for Labor, Material, SubC and Other.
