BACKING UP YOUR HOMETECH ADVANTAGE DATA
Did you know that you can back up your HomeTech ADVANTAGE data in 6 simple steps? By backing up your data you can save hundreds of keystroke hours if data is destroyed by unlikely events such as fires or power outages.
Step 1: Click on "Data BackUp" from the vertical menu on the left.

Step 2: Determine a location for your backup file. Do this by navigating to the directory where you would like to save your backup.
- Click on the down arrow under “Drive” to select the drive location.
- Click on folder icon under “Drive Folder” to select the folder (if desired) within the drive.
- Type in or select the “Backup File Name.”
- Once you have chosen the location, click on “Start BackUp” button.

Step 3: Confirm your backup file location. Click on “Yes.”
Step 4: When the ADVANTAGE backup is finished, click on “OK.”

Step 5: See that the "42HTDATAZIP" file appears right where it belongs! Close or “X” out of the dialog box.

Step 6: In addition to having the backup file on your hard drive, burn the backup file to a CD for safe storage or archive by following the simple steps below. (Instructions apply to PC users only.)
- Insert a blank, writable CD into the CD recorder.
- Open "My Computer."
- Click the files or folders you want to copy to the CD. To select more than one file, hold down the CTRL key while you click the files you want. Then, under "File and Folder Tasks," click "Copy this file," "Copy this folder," or "Copy the selected items."
If the files are located in "My Pictures," under "Picture Tasks," click "Copy to CD" or "Copy all items to CD," and skip the next step.
- In the "Copy Items" dialog box, click on the CD recording drive, then click "Copy."
- In "My Computer," double-click the CD recording drive. Windows displays a temporary area where the files are held before they are copied to the CD. Verify that the files and folders that you intend to copy to the CD appear under "Files Ready to be Written to the CD."
- Under "CD Writing Tasks," click "Write these files to CD." Windows displays the CD Writing Wizard. Follow the instructions in the wizard.
