Following are just a few ideas of the type of questions you can ask during an interview. The goal is to keep the questions open ended so that the candidate has a chance to talk and you can get to know them.

  • How would you describe yourself?

  • Why do you want to leave your current job?

  • What are your long and short range career goals?

  • What are the most important rewards you expect from your career?

  • What type of people do you like to work with?

  • Give specific examples of how you solved a difficult problem at work.

  • How would a good friend describe you?

  • What motivates you to go the extra mile on a project or job?

  • Why do you want to work for this company?

  • What did you like most about your most recent job?
